MS150 Training-Shooting Star Trail:Austin to Rose Creek

Hi Traverskis, Tim and I are going to do the MS150 in June and to prepare we are going to do a set of Traverski bike rides, and anyone can join us even if they are not doing to MS150.

For the 5th ride we are going ride Shooting Star Trail, starting in Austin at the Hormel Nature Center parking lot. Then ride to Rose Creek/Adams/Taopi, and back, which is 20+ miles each way. And if you just want to do some of the ride, but not go all the way to Taopi, that's ok too, as Rose Creek is just 10+ miles out. And the trail is fairly flat.

And the weather for Saturday morning is looking pretty good for the ride, sunny, low wind, and not hot out.

​Shooting Star Trail is comprised of 30 miles of 'Remnant Tall Grass Prairie' and native wildflowers along MN 56 from I-90 near Austin MN southeast through the towns of Rose Creek, Adams and Taopi; through Lake Louise State Park near the MN-IA state line; and ending at the eastern trail head in LeRoy, MN. The Shooting Star Trail is supported by Prairie Visions.
