Tubing on the Cannon River in Welch, MN

Updated info:  The temperatures will be a little cooler on Sat than I originally wanted for this trip.  Remember there are canoes and kayaks available to rent.  This way you can still have fun going down river, but can wear a sweatshirt and/or jacket and stay warm & dry.  Pants that can get wet and dry quickly might be ideal.  Just remember to wear shoes & not sandals. Pricing & trip lenths for the canoes and kayaks are listed on the website shown below.  This will be fun trip no matter the temps! :)

We will meet at Fazoli’s off of Hwy 52 and 55^th St. NW at 8:30am and carpool or caravan up to Welch Mill in the town of Welch arriving around 9:45am.  (26389 County Road 7 Blvd Welch, MN 55089).  We can go to King’s Bar for burgers or another establishment afterwards.

Bring some kind of water shoes or old tennis shoes.  The bottom of the river is very rocky.  Sandals can fall off easily and you don’t want to cut your feet.

Each tube is $12 and the trip is 2-4 hours long based on the water level.  They offer kayaking and canoeing as well.  Make sure to bring cash or a MN check to pay for the fun.  They do NOT take credit/debit cards.

Feel free to bring a cooler and beverages.  You can tie the cooler to a tube and float it with you down the river.  Glass bottles and containers, Styrofoam coolers, kegs, beer bongs and beads are not allowed on the river.
